Heading into the 5th Week of College Football
It's been a pretty predictable regular season so far, as most colleges expect in their non-conference schedule -- see: scheduling FBS schools in the first part of the season.
But now we're getting ready for some inner-conference play, which is mostly exciting in the SEC, BIG12, BIG10 and sometimes the PAC12. This is where unranked teams are able to out-play the ranked, and shift the rankings all over the board. LSU, Alabama, South Carolina and Florida are all going to end up top 10 before they play one another, so knowing that the possibility of only 1 of these teams going undefeated is satisfying when you're a Boise State fan. However, this is where an undefeated-Boise State team will still be left out of the National Championship picture if there is a 1-loss SEC team and an undefeated PAC12/BIG10/BIG12 team.
I for one, think that Boise State has been good long enough to say "if they're undefeated, let 'em try." If they lose, then people will shut up for 5 more years.
However, the rumor is that BYU and Boise are trying to join the BIG12. If this happens, I'm almost positive that Boise won't hang. They are a great team at the end of the year every year, because they have 11 bye weeks and little to zero injuries at the end when other teams are playing tough games all year long and have several injuries or off-field prostitution, bar-fight-face-stomping, illegal-tattoo-receiving issues.
This seems more like a ramble made during a boring International Marketing class at NMSU than a legit blog on week 5 of football, but all I'm trying to say is, I'm excited for the rest of the season. And, Boise State, if you don't go undefeated this year and hope for some extra losses in the AQ conferences, then your time will have past for a long time...
It's Thursday night. Who cares who is playing tonight? I'm watching! Football is already back this week. *sigh of relief*
